The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated to provide a program for community organizations that offers effective character, citizenship, and personal fitness training for youth.

Specifically, the BSA endeavors to develop American citizens who are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit; have a high degree of self-reliance as evidenced in such qualities as initiative, courage, and resourcefulness; have personal values based on religious concepts; have the desire and skills to help others; understand the principles of the American social, economic, and governmental systems; are knowledgeable about and take pride in their American heritage and understand our nation’s role in the world; have a keen respect for the basic rights of all people; and are prepared to participate in and give leadership to American society.

Merit Badge Workshop at Norwich University - Feb 29th

The Norwich University Scouting Association (NUSA) is hosting Norwich Merit Badge Day. This is an all day event. You can drop off your scout or stay at the event. We may carpool if numbers are sufficient. Permission to release your Scout to the carpool driver will be required. The cost is $15.00 to scouts and any adults/leaders that stay. Lunch is provided. Scouts can pick 2 merit badges to work on. Some badges require the scout to complete requirements before going.

Our next Troop meeting is Sunday, March 1st at Wheeler House on Dorset St from 6:15 till 8 pm. Please note there is no Troop Meeting Feb 23rd during Winter Break.

Vaughn Lodge Winter Overnight Camping March 6th- March 8th

Overnight at Vaughn Lodge, Camp Sunrise in Benson VT Friday March 6 - Sunday March 8th
This is great trip for a veteran or new scout to attend. Scouts who have the skills and appropriate gear can sleep outside in a tent both nights. Scouts who are new or uncomfortable sleeping outside in the winter can sleep inside the heated Vaughn Lodge which also has electricity too. Or if the weather gets too crazy, we have the option of sheltering in the Lodge.

We are now accepting payments for Summer Camp at Hidden Valley for July 19-25.
The cost is $410 if paying with a check for early bird discount before March 16th.
